The Medical Women's International Association is a federation of national associations of women doctors in approximately 50 countries in all five continents.  Individual membership is available to women doctors in countries where there is no national association. Individual members are encouraged to form a national association.  The Association is composed of 8 geographical regions.  Each region is represented on the Executive Committee by its Vice-President.  The regions are Northern Europe, Central Europe, Southern Europe, North America, Latin America, Near East and Africa, Central Asia, and Western Pacific.  

 

MWIA's Aims are:

To offer medical women the opportunity to meet so as to confer upon questions concerning the health and well-being of humanity.

To promote the general interest of medical women by developing cooperation, friendship and understanding without regard to race, religion or political views.

To overcome gender-related differences in health and healthcare between women and men, girls and boys throughout the world.

To overcome gender related inequalities in the medical profession.

To promote HEALTH FOR ALL throughout the world with particular interest in WOMEN; HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT
