Robin

Robin Casarjian left a successful career as teacher and therapist to write "Forgiveness: A bold Choice for a Peaceful Heart" to inspire people all over the world to embrace forgiveness as a path to wholeness. She went on to bring her work to prisons, serving lifers and prisoners with long sentences - inspiring them to greater self-knowledge, healing and spiritual practice. Her second book, "Houses of Healing" became one of the most widely read and inspirational self-help books for men and women in prison - and became the foundation for creating healing communities based on the book and its practices, throughout the US and around the world. Robin and her tiny staff work tirelessly to train corrections' staff, prison counselors and clergy in the principals and practices of transformational healing. Robin's foundation, The Lionheart Foundation, based in Boston, relies on grants and private donations to send out tens of thousands of free books on Forgiveness to anyone who wants them. Houses of Healing became so popular that Robin decided (with her niece, child psychologist Bethany Casarjian, PH.d) to create a similar book, "Power Source", for the growing population of Youth at Risk. Robin and Beth have offered training after training to educators, counselors who wish to use Power Source in schools and youth facilities. "Power Source" has been recognized by Youth at Risk readers, and the professionals who serve them as one of the most powerful, useful, life-saving programs around. As fast as Lionheart can print and send out copies, there are always more requests. The fourth project of Lionheart, "Power Source, Teen Parenting" was created to help young parents (particularly mothers) learn how to parent their babies and children. Robin and her co-author, Beth, are devoted to helping young parents break the cycle of abuse and neglect so common to teen parents who themselves had teen parents. Several of Lionheart's projects have received funding for rigorous scientific research in order to qualify for consideration as "evidence-based" programming - so that "Power Source", "Power Source - Teen Parenting" can be integrated more widely into state-run and federally funded facilities. When private funding dried up, Robin took herself off the payroll in order to continue printing and sending out books, offering trainings, and continuing to serve her ever-expanding base of need. Robin continues to work tirelessly to serve the populations that our society has rejected and neglected. www.lionheart.org file:///Users/CassMcMAC/Desktop/Robin Casarjian's Photos - Profile Pictures (11).webarchive
