Jamie O'Connell Duignan continues to contribute to the protection and betterment of her community and society at large. She is a dedicated police detective who has also contributed greatly in times of distress and great personal tragedies by serving as a peer-support person helping others through traumatic events. She has sought to improve policing on a national and international level by initiating social networks of fellow police officers, leading them in discussions on ways forward in creating better police forces. In addition to contributing professionally, she is a wife and mother who clearly demonstrates that a woman need not choose between career and family. She handles both admirably, with dedication and an obvious sense of joy.
