Camille Leon spearheads the Holistic Chambers of Commerce, a growing national organization devoted to connecting holistic heath providers with people who are seeking alternatives to the traditional medical system..

After watching her grandmother and mother struggle with traditional solutions to health issues, Camille looked into holistic alternatives but couldn't find the right ones easiy. She saw a need to be filled for everyone and became devoted to filling it. In 2010 the Holistic Chambers of Commerce, of which she is Founder and Executive Director, expanded from 2 chapters in California to 7 chapters nationwide, and is growing fast. Local holistic groups are joining the HCC family to benefit from shared national resources, an online directory of practitioners and holistic resources, and lobbying opportunities on behalf of holistic health providers and services. As the Health Care Reform debate rages, it is becoming even more critical to give holistic health an equal voice and share in the process.

Camille has a long history of working with international, national, regional and community organizations including Women In Film, the League of Women Voters, the Los Angeles Community College District, the San Clemente Ocean Festival, Friends Peace Teams, and the YWCA. She is devoted to helping people enhance their own health and wellness through better choices for eating, exercise and our environment. Her mission is to have "healthy people on a healthy planet."

Camille and the HCC leadership team have also established the HCC Foundation to fund research and educational projects related to holistic health and healing modalities. In addition to her work with the HCC, Camille writes a monthly column for a weekly Santa Monica (CA) newspaper and is a frequent public speaker and radio show guest. She mentors Holistic Chamber leaders to launch new HCC chapters and create community through holistic resources in their areas. She is also an active adventurer, taking leaps of faith -- from jumping out of airplanes to climbing the Great Wall of China -- to stretch her own comfort zone so she can help others do the same.
