Tracy

Tracy is the founder of Mothers Against Brain Injuries, Inc. She founded the organization in 2004 when her 16 year old son suffered traumatic brain injury (TBI) in an accident. At that time there was very little support or information for families or patients. In the past six years Tracy has done a phenomenal job of changing that..she started the Tote Bag Program, which is a program that donates bags filled with supplies (toothbrushes, journals, blankets, etc.) for the families of the victims to use while they are keeping vigil in the hospital. This program has now spread to three other states, as the nurses are bringing the program with them as they're transferred. The bags are also filled with books, testimonials and information on brain injuries. She is also an advocate for changing the way TBI's are handled, speaking at political meetings and congressional hearings. She shows up at hospitals and is a hands on support for the families of patients with this injury.,Tracy went through a horrible ordeal, saw a need that needed to be filled, and vowed to help change things for other families going through the heartbreak she did. She is a woman whose life and organization should be honored., You can find out more about Mothers Against Brain Injury, Inc at mabii.org
