Lori Soltas - Vice President Loan Processing Division, George Mason Mortgage.and the mother of two children, Jessica 15 and Joey 17. Lori has been a loan processor for over 26 years and has been with George Mason Mortgage for over 18 years where she manages a very large loan processing department staff. She is also the mother to two children Joey age 17 and Jessica age 15, so in addition to her high profile position manages to be very active in all the sports that her children are involved with which includes, basketball, soccer, lacross and cheerleading. She has never missed a game for either of her children since they started playing in sports at a young age, and she is the first person to head up a fund raising project for any of these youth groups, and she will rally all the parents to get involved. Over the years she has raised much money for PTA at her children's schools and for all the sports groups that they have been involved with, she also is very creative and comes up with ideas on great fundraising projects. Each year she also puts together a trip for the Spots moms and their children to all get away together and usually they rent several beach houses and have a wonderful week with each other and also sharing with all the children who are all now teenagers, but it started when they were all much younger and continues each year because Lori is the planner and makes it happen. In April 2010 her husband of over 18 years died due to committing suicide which suddenly made her a widow. She was in shock as this is something that happens to other people she said, not to us. But inspite of it she had to remain strong for her children and she was there for them every inch of the way making sure they had counseling to deal with such a shocking drama. She also made sure that there was a nice closure for his family with a proper burial . Her company rallied around her as did all her friends, at the funeral there were over 300+ a few for him and the rest for her and her children. Her company set up a trust fund for the children's college and many donations poured in, this was wonderful as now they will be able to attend college. During all this grief, and helping her children cope with the loss, Lori stayed strong for her children, and went back to work as her company was overloaded with cases to process and she being a hardworker and loyal to the company as well to her staff was right there with them getting the loans processed so others could enjoy their new homes. Her staff adore her as she is for them and with them 100% all the time and they know that. Over the months since this happened she has helped her children cope with the loss and move back into their lives, and she has remained strong and steadfast and continues to do her business never missing a day. She received a large raise because of her dedication and hard work and continues to receive the respect of the community. Lori Soltas is not only a success in business but she is also a success as a mother and to her children of always being there for them.
